New install-test job in validate-charts.yml: for exactly the charts a PR
changes, install them into an ephemeral k3d cluster (pinned k3d v5.9.0,
k3s v1.35.5-k3s1) and require every Deployment/StatefulSet to become
Ready. Runs non-blocking (continue-on-error) during the stabilization
phase.
Fixtures live at the repo root under ci/ (not inside chart directories,
so they neither trigger publishes on merge nor get packaged): a stub
OnePasswordItem CRD, per-chart test values and fixtures (dummy secrets
with in-cluster DSNs, throwaway postgres/redis/dex, synapse-generate
seed job, static hostPath PVs where charts pin storage classes or need
RWX), plus a shared ci/run-install-test.sh harness that also runs
locally.
Excluded with documented reasons (ci/excluded-charts.txt): satisfactory
(multi-GB image), teamspeak-server (TS6 beta license expired, image
crashes on start), template-chart (placeholder image).
All 14 non-excluded charts verified locally in k3d using only the
committed fixtures.
Add securityContext hardening (runAsNonRoot, readOnlyRootFilesystem,
capabilities drop ALL, allowPrivilegeEscalation false) to the 10 workloads
that lacked it: apache-tika, cyberchef, gotenberg, homeassistant,
matrix-delegation-nginx, paperless-server, paperless-consume cronjob
(plus automountServiceAccountToken false), patchmon-frontend,
urlaubsverwaltung and zipline. All contexts are configurable via
securityContext.pod / securityContext.container in values.yaml; writable
paths are provided as emptyDirs. Image-forced deviations (Home Assistant
root start for s6-overlay + NET_RAW for discovery, paperless root init
container for /run ownership) are documented in the charts' values.yaml.
Major version bump for every changed published chart.
Every chart was installed twice in a throwaway k3d cluster (origin/main
vs this branch) with real Postgres/Redis/dex instances and observed for
readiness ordering, stability and dependency-outage behavior. Findings:
- voucher-vault: Django only accepts Hosts 127.0.0.1 and the configured
DOMAIN; the default probe Host (pod IP) always got 400. Probes now
send 'Host: 127.0.0.1'.
- zipline: /api/healthcheck includes the database, so liveness now uses
'/' (readiness/startup keep /api/healthcheck). Verified live: on a
Postgres outage the pod turns NotReady within 30s and is never
restarted by the kubelet.
- outline: '/' also returns 500 when the database is down, so there is
no dependency-free endpoint; all three probes use /_health.
Every container in every Deployment/StatefulSet now defines all three
probes. The paperless-ngx consume CronJob intentionally has none (batch
workload).
- Add probes: apache-tika, calibre-web-automated, cyberchef, gotenberg,
homeassistant, patchmon-backend, samba (tcp/445), teamspeak-server
(tcp/30033), zipline (/api/healthcheck)
- Fix voucher-vault null probe values with real defaults
- Fix startup-probe semantics in template-chart and rallly (no
initialDelaySeconds, generous failureThreshold)
- Switch outline probes to its /_health endpoint
- Add readiness/startup probes to satisfactory
- Add startup probes to matrix-synapse, matrix-delegation-nginx,
paperless-server, patchmon-frontend, urlaubsverwaltung
- Major version bump for all published charts
On every pull request, detect which chart directories were touched and
run helm lint --strict, helm package, and a chart-version bump check
for exactly those charts. PRs without chart changes skip the build.
Fixes#5
The chart is no longer needed. Removes the chart directory, its publish
workflow, and its row in the README chart table. Already published
versions remain in the registry.
Fixes#7
Without a branch filter, any push on any branch touching a chart
directory packaged and published the chart to the registry.
